Spend an entertaining evening experiencing traditional Turkish dances, costumes and music from many regions of the country. The program presents customs such as the traditional wedding-proposal dance in a relaxed setting with food, music, dancing and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The evening begins with live music before folk dancers take the stage. Performers, including a bride and groom, present a traditional Turkish wedding sequence, with the bride wearing a beautiful red dress. Folk dances from different parts of Türkiye are followed by the highlight of the evening, a belly dancer. The program also includes performances such as a fire dance, a Caucasian knife dance and a drum show.
Featured folk traditions include Çayda Çıra from Central Anatolia, performed by young women in silver- and gold-embroidered kaftans carrying lighted candles; Silifke Yoğurdu from the southern Mediterranean, in which dancers click wooden spoons above their heads; Şeyh Şamil, a dramatized legend of a Caucasian hero; Kılıç Kalkan, an epic sword-and-shield dance from northwestern Türkiye; and Zeybek, a powerful Aegean dance in which male performers strike their knees against the floor between steps.
Many shows invite guests to join the entertainment, often finishing with a group dance or a samba-style line around the room. This is a lively, tourist-oriented introduction to Turkish folk culture.
